Die Satellite-Turniere des Europäischen Volleyballverbandes CEV sind Geschichte. Ab 2018 sind die Turniere des CEV in die Beach Volleyball World Tour des Volleyball Weltverbandes FIVB integriert. Deshalb heisst es in Vaduz nicht mehr CEV Beach Volleyball Satellite sondern FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour 1-star. Das Turnier in Vaduz bleibt, was es schon immer war: Ein sportliches und gesellschaftliches Highlight für Liechtenstein und die Region. Durch die Integration und damit die Harmonisierung der Beachvolleyball-Turniere weltweit, wurde das Turnier in Vaduz weiter aufgewertet.

Das Beachvolleyball-Turnier in Vaduz ist ein fester Bestandteil im Liechtensteiner Sport- und Eventkalender. Jahr für Jahr kommen internationale Top-Teams nach Vaduz und kämpfen um 15’000 Euro Preisgeld und wertvolle Punkte auf der weltumspannenden Tour. In diesem Jahr findet das Turnier vom 7. – 11. August statt.

The matches will be held at Liechtenstein’s capital, with the iconic centre court right below the castle of Vaduz, home of the Prince of Liechtenstein, his Senere Highness Hans-Adam II and the princely family. Liechtenstein, a microstate in central Europe and the world’s 6th smallest country, is bordered by Switzerland and Austria. Liechtenstein has an area of just over 160 square kilometres (62 square miles) and a population of over 37,000. It is the last remaining constitutional monarchy in the German speaking area and has the rank of a principality. Liechtenstein, as an alpine country, is mainly mountainous, making it a winter sport destination. Nevertheless it also has a long history in hosting international beach volleyball competitions in its capital, Vaduz.
